Hey that’s me shielding my eyes from the horrible sun! If you can you should come down to California College of the Arts’ Oakland campus and check out me & my friends’ cool great stuff!! We’ll be here until 3!
Hey followers!!! I am so freaking excited to bring this project to you (this is what I’ve been working on for the past few weeks). Go and check us out, our roster on this zine is outta control talented and all sales proceeds benefit charity!!
Hey, you should really check out this campaign & contribute if you can! A lot of my Extremely Talented Friends are working on it, so it’s definitely going to be great, and it’s going to a great cause. What could be better?
I’ll be at Table 5 with Georgia Chouteau at the Queer Comics Expo this weekend, next to CCA MFA in Comics @ccacomics on Table 3! Come say hey on Saturday, and then come back Sunday for a panel I’m moderating at 3pm with some of CCA’s most kickass alumni about their comic-making process: Bex, Maia Kobabe, and Scout Tran-Caffee.
My table will be right next to the Alphabet Gallery where the original pages of Haunted House will be on display. Alphabet Anthology is finally making its debut!
Hey everyone – if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend you should definitely come out to QCE! In addition to the lovely artists above, Waterlily will be available in print at the CCA table, and I’ll be around too, so you should come check it out!
Hey, sorry for responding so late, I’ve been away from home for a little while.
Thank you so much, it really means a lot to hear from people about their own experiences with this same thing & it means even more to me that my comic was able to give you hope for eventually getting through it! I really hope you can find comfort in your body and a way to swim again soon… Trust me, it will happen.
Thank you so much, hearing from other trans women who have been through these same feelings with the water really means means a lot to me! I’ve been through these moments of shutting down and breaking free around water myself much more than once, and I feel it’s similar for a lot of other things, too.
I hope it’s okay for me to post this publicly. I’ll delete it if not!
I used to work in an office, before I went back to school. I was the only person who answered phones there. Like, literally the only one. I said it a lot.
Anyways, I wrote it there when the blog was empty and never really changed it!
Thank you so much! I’ve been seeing so many lovely comments in the reblogs & tags too and I really appreciate it! It feels great to have been able to write something that’s resonated so well.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading it this week! Personally it’s been wonderful to hear so many positive reactions – especially from other trans women who have dealt with this same experience of having to leave behind their love of swimming. I’ll be writing more about the feelings that went into it later, but know I’m there with you, and I’ve been through all of this more than once.
Being trans shouldn’t have to mean losing the things you love. You deserve to find a way to reclaim them. Even if it’s just for a little while.
Hey, I noticed tumblr kind of compressed the last couple of images in here beyond belief. They should be fixed now. Sorry about that!
